Adler’s Reagent, 250 mL

$86.66

Description

Adler’s Reagent is an etchant for high alloy, corrosion-resistant steels, Co or Co-Al alloys, such as Inconel 625 or Hastelloy C-22, C-276. Unlike other powerful etchants, it’s stable and can be stored for a year.

User Instructions:

Micro-etching:

  • Some crystals will form at the bottom of the container during winter months. To restore for use, place the bottle in a hot water bath until all crystals are re-dissolved.
  • Your alloy sample has to be mirror-polished to a high degree ending with alumina slurry (0.05 micron) and etched as soon it’s cleaned and dried without any delay. Otherwise, the metal surface will passivate.
  • Immerse or swab the sample few seconds to a minute.

Macro-etching an Inconel 625 Weld:

  • Sand the weld surface to a uniform 600 grit finish then etch it as soon it’s cleaned and dried without any delay. Otherwise, Inco 625 will react with air and passivate.

Packaging:

Nalgene® Leakproof Bottle, HDPE.
